18TH CENTURY RECIPES
Eighteenth-century settlers in New Scotland (Nova Scotia) brought their culture and cuisine to Atlantic Canada. Costumed re-enactors at the Fortress of Louisbourg Volunteer Militia aim to preserve history at the fort through educational and entertaining appearances. Clan Graham Society members Jim and Joyce Nethery, who had visited the fort, recounted: “The day we were there was cold and drizzly so a hot 18th century lunch went down awfully well.
